Rafat Y. Alwazna
Professor Abdullah Shunnaq 1948-2017
Professor Abdullah Shunnaq (Editorial Board Member) passed away on 24th October 2017 in Irbid, Jordan. His death was totally unexpected and came as a deep shock to Translation Studies world. Few would deny Professor Shunnaq the credit for the unparalleled prosperity of translation movement in Jordan and in the Arab world, and then for being hugely influential to many translation theorists and practitioners all over the world. Professor’s Shunnaq is epitomised by thoughtful and penetrating mind. His significant contribution to translation is immeasurable as can be well envisaged in many scholarly books, articles, conferences, symposiums, colloquiums, seminars, theses supervisions, the list goes on. We are incredibly saddened by the loss of an esteemed scholar as are countless individuals around the world. May Allah rest his soul.
